That's quite a clear out at Leeds. Is this a cost cutting or a pruning excercise Loosehead?

Simon Grainger leaving Knights to go back to Wales (no club mentioned) and focus on what he will do after rugby. After six years at the club, he will be missed, always willing to put his body on the line (and over it on some occasions) for the Knights.

Glen 'Kendo' Kenworthy decided it's not the time to retire and will carry on for another year, hope he has less injuries this year and gets the game time he deserves

Why so quiet? I could be totally wrong but possibe factors are:

1. Playoffs mean there are (theoretically) only 4 teams who know for definite which league they'll be in next season (I know it's more in reality but with no announcement on who can/cannot be promoted one can't make assumptions) This clearly has a huge impact on budget planning in terms ofr RFU/Sponsorship money and sponorship deals (more exposure in GP = much bigger deals relegation = might as well become an amateur club again)

2. The RFU have yet to announce what "fine tuning" is needed for the structure next season so it's hard to judge exactly what's needed in terms of playing strength

3. The RFU have made noises about securing a sponsor for the Championship next season. Until that is announced with the money to clubs from it no one knows how much they've got to spend

4. Lots of other things other, more informed, people will know about and will hopefully share...

Apparently it's going to be sponsored by Pedigree and called the Chappie-onship next season, because it's been such a dogs breakfast this one........
Kenilworth RFC's head coach Mat Davies, a former captain and hooker at Rugby Lions, has stepped down from his role as Head Coach role after gaining a promotion at work which will mean he can no longer make the commitment that is necessary.
As a result the position of Head Coach, along with Job Spec, is being advertised on the following Kenilworth RFC website: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/kenilworth/
Spoke to him last week at a Lions player reunion. Excellent man in every respect and a good move for him but a loss to Kenilworth.

I thought is was already sponsored by Chum hence the Chum-pionship though they used to claim that Chum was "Pedigree" which is more than can be said for............................I'd favour the "earthquake" as the ground is always shifting under your feet.

Please! We had similar rumours a few years ago when he was at Mose and his agent (presumably) linked him with Leicester etc etc.  Ben's a decent prop, but he ain't Premiership!

With due respect Ben couldn't hold on to regular spot at Mose.......but then again we did beat Leeds last time we played them so maybe it is true LOL

Re-branding, it's the only way! Ever thought of becoming the Exeter Pirates?!!
I see on some GP sites some supporters of the relegation threatened teams are assuming player recruitment has been held up due to their predicaments.  At least they'll not have to wait until May 26th, by which time the sweet shop will be empty-ish.
So in theory, the 2 finalists are being punished to some degree by being successful.
I expect the only player news at Exeter at the moment will be the out the door variety.

Stand to be corrected. However, Rob baxter seems to have already predicted the play off outcome with his comment about Tui "He's a big guy but he can also play a bit and I think he will bring something fresh to this league when he joins us". So thats another season in the championship then, especially with Nottinghams inevitable 5 point win this afternoon and Welsh hammering Donny. Simples Thumbs Up
Tui looks a good squad signing though, whether it's Championship or GP

On closer inspection the article I'd read about Tui was from April 2009.
My point was players  not coming in due to the late end to the season, not those that have re-signed.

For a Redruth supporter you seem to know an awful lot about the Pirates. Pirates management haven't even told their own supporters yet about who is going.

Capt Sparrow - You obviously weren't at today's game or listened to Radio Drekly and an official announcement has been made.

Sorry to say that a Redruth supporter is right.

I believe the above list is about right,it was confirmed by Dicky Evans today that Steve Winn and Matt Evans were being released and that Rudi Britts had signed for Bristol in his short speech to the crowd at the end,one or two of the others we already know about.

Plus
Shaun Pammenter returning to Americas Cup sailing.
Mark Ireland returning to his home area.
Matt Evans starting a journalism degree.
and most of the others already documented.

Appears majority have made their own decision to move on. 1 or 2 are pretty obvious.

Not many surprises and fortunately only 2/3 of the 1st XV.

Actually I was at the game today but I already knew the players leaving. I must confess I had not heard it on Radio Cornwall.

"Not many surprises and fortunately only 2/3 of the 1st XV."

3milestonePirate, where do you get this from?? The inference is that "only" 2/3 of the first XV are leaving, but that it is clearly rubbish.
Only Ireland , and potentially Brits or Franklin at tight head, could be classified as first choice[although it's disappointing to read of some of the departures]

The Pirates management let the Members forum know who was leaving as soon as all players were informed
