Imagine this.......Irish field a team with a few squad players who have little game time . Coventry lift their game against the ex Premiership team and Championship league leaders.

Coventry win ...!

The Coventry fans go to the clubhouse and watch England beat Ireland in the six Nations opener.

Does that conjure the littlest bit excitement ?.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

I think there is every likelihood that Irish rotate most and perhaps all of the team they selected against Jersey on Sunday. They have a big squad however and it would still require a big game by Cov to win away.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Go for it Coventry! Birmingham airport is a doddle to get to Jersey.

Is the draw decided now or are all quarter winners going into a hat?

No to both Qs

Teams who were in the same pool (eg Cov & YksCarn, or Ealing & Jersey) may be separated in the SF pairings. See regs extract below. There'll no doubt be speculation over the weekend about who'll be playing whom, but unlikely anything will be confirmed until early next week. Anyone seeking to make travel arrangements before that would do so at their own risk...

4.9 The quarter-final Matches shall comprise of the top two Clubs from each pool and the two highest ranking third place Clubs across all the pools, in all cases as ranked in accordance with the principles set out in 4.7 above. The winning Club of each pool and the highest ranked second place Club across all pools will play at home as follows:

Quarter-final 1: Seed 1 vs. Seed 8
Quarter-final 2: Seed 2 vs. Seed 7
Quarter-final 3: Seed 3 vs. Seed 6
Quarter-final 4: Seed 4 vs. Seed 5

The Tournament Organiser will adjust the quarter-final draw above in order to ensure teams from the same pool do not play each other.

4.10 The semi-final Matches shall comprise the winners of each quarter-final who shall play each other as follows and the first Club listed in each of the semi-final matches shall be the Home Club:

Semi-final 1: Quarter-final 1 vs. Quarter-final 4
Semi-final 2: Quarter-final 2 vs. Quarter-final 3

If possible, the Tournament Organiser may adjust the semi-final draw above in order to ensure teams from the same pool do not play each other

Thanks Islander. If I read your post correctly the likely outcome would be:

Semi 1 - Winner of Ealing & Nottingham will be at home to the winner of Jersey & Pirates UNLESS the winners are Ealing & Jersey.

Semi 2 - Winner of Irish & Cov will be at home to the winner Yorkies & Blues UNLESS the winners are Irish & Blues OR Cov & Yorkies.

Given the possibility of at least one of the exceptions arising is relatively high your advice about not committing travel  costs seems very wise.

Can Jersey play Irish again if they beat Cov & Jersey beat Pirates - please?

Personally I wouldn't try and second-guess the outcome. The use of the word 'may' in the regs suggests that something 'may' happen, but equally, that it may not!
