Perhaps this is on the the wrong forum but I noticed on another web site (Fifteen Rugby) that there was an announcement of a squad for the England Counties Under 18 side to play Ireland in April. I can't see any reference to this on the RFU website and wondered how this is linked in to the Under 20 and Full Counties set up. Anybody know?

This is a very important pathway for lads who for some reason missed out on England Academy rugby.
The best story by far is a young man at Doncaster Knights who has just signed his second full time contract.

Thanks for the link FHLH.
Sail By: Did this chap play for England Counties Under 18 in his time, because the article doesn't say that.
" pathway for lads who for some reason missed out on England Academy rugby" - but how do they differentiate from the two categories. Is it like a Plate competition? If you don't make the cut at the final trial, the player follows this pathway? I noticed that there were 80 boys who played in a North v South U17 trial at Stourbridge. Does that mean the 40+ boys who don't make the Under18 squad get considered for the Counties Squad.
Again, probably the wrong forum but one can always rely on reliable, informed and considered opinion here.

Yes Sam played for the England Counties Under 18 team.

Hard to explain but Newcastle do a good job;
