They must have played in at least one game. Hayes did in Game 1 and Lavin in Games 1 & 2

Thanks, I couldn't be bothered to trawl through the team sheets. Nothing to see here then!

Interesting to see Dave Brazier and Jack Preece listed as Cov players before they've played a single game for that club Wink

Fair point, but perhaps they are on Cov contracts now?

Had to laugh when I saw Matt Shepherd's tour may be over before it starts, as his dog has eaten his passport!!

Has this squad changed much from the one that played the Scottish and Irish club XV's earlier this year.

Probably, but their selection for the squad owes nothing to any performances for Cov.  Ah well, c'est la vie.

Crisis over!

You have to wonder if a Basque secret infiltrator tried smearing Pedigree Chum round his letter box to sabotage the replacement...

Wigwam, lets not go there. only 2 Cornwall & 1 Lancashire player. Again if selected pre-game 3 then a bit lop-sided. There's a Centre from Glos scored something like 2 tries a game and he's not in.

I would suggest the Selectors haven't really been that involved, more of a phone call from the powers that be.

Only 9 players with connections to teams who would be classed as southern out of 26 is quite frankly disgusting. who are these selectors do they all have flat caps and whippets ???

Only 7 from the North in the England Counties U20s squad Considering Yorkshire and Durham contested the Final
Some people up North might find that disgusting.

Could not agree more.
It seems both squads are biased to how far the selectors wanted to drive.
Sorry for any offence to those called up but no one could call these balanced selections, or that they have been based upon the most successful counties and their players. ,

There is always the question of availability
This is semi pro rugby so players need to negotiate time away from work - even if RFU pays for their time.
We do not know how many players have declined for financial reasons, or simply to give bodies time to recover.
I know several of the Cambridge players did not play for Eastern Counties this year as they needed rest and recovery after a hard season.

Well said, it's hard to rubbish the selection without knowing the constraints that the selectors were working within. Hartpury are a case in point, very few of their players appear to have made themselves available for selection in the BB.

In other news, it's good to see former counties prop Jamal Ford-Robinson on the bench for England tomorrow. No doubt this point will be missed by those who seek to cut Counties' meagre budget.

I am sure you will be correct in a few cases Camquin, but I suspect these will be the exceptions rather than the general rule. To any that did turn down the chance all I would say is your a long time retired.
Perhaps its the era of my upbringing, but aches and pains and a few days leave would have been sacrificed to represent my country at any sport.
