FT Somerset 43 Warwickshire 14 - fairly comfortable home win built on Somerset's bigger front five who were much the stronger unit.  Warwickshire scrum spent most of the 1st half in reserve gear, not helped by an injury to their No.8 and a prop being sin-binned.  They managed to steady the ship in the 2nd half when they had the wind advantage but Somerset were still too good in most departments.

Gloucestershire 55 Devon 12. Some very good running by the Glos centre Sam Goatley - 3 tries I think, but might have been 4.

You were there of course, Red or Dead, or are you waiting for the final to put in an appearance?

Insight is a wonderful thing, especially if you have it before the event

RoD may not have been there Janner, but I was. Cornwall produced an outstanding second half performance to overcome a very decent Surrey side. The first half saw Surrey's outstanding backs in control and, unfortunately we gave them far too much room which they made the most of. Surrey looked for quick ball, and they played some good stuff. With two first half yellow cards, which involved playing with 13 men for a short period, Cornwall did very well to be only 7 points in areers at half-time.

Graham Dawe obviously worked his magic at the break - we came out firing, ensured that the space for Surrey's backs was reduced. Robin Wedlake's try was absolutely outstanding. It is also worth remembering that we were without a number of last year's squad who were in Dublin on a stag do. They come back into the reckoning for next Saturday's game against the old enemy, Devon.

A terrific Yorkshire win against the Cheshire Galacticos. Some super tries as Yorkshires turned around last season's heavy defeat. The large Cheshire pack dominated the scrums but Yorkshire were quicker around the pitch.

A very exciting event.

I thought the Cheshire Galacticos were playing against Old Elthamians yesterday?
