The rumours going around is that Plymouth wont be letting there players or coaches be involved with Cornwall this year. I hope that is not true. As a westcountry rugby fan I would be disappointed if is was. Albion owe Cornwall a lot. After getting relegated from the Championship they rebuilt their squad around Cornwalls 2015 winning team. Those players also owe Cornwall for helping there careers.

Thanks for your comments Roboo, they were exactly the points that jumped straight to mind when I read your first sentence. Is it just Cornwall players, or are they planning not to release players for any county? If the former, it's bound to create plenty of bad feeling and is a pretty shabby way to treat Graham Dawe who did so much for the club in the past, although some would say "nothing new there".

If the rumours turn out to be true, would Albion actually be able to enforce this? I.e. will the players in question be under contract at the relevant time? I suppose they could make life difficult if they are able to stop players from attending training sessions in the build up.

From a Cornish point of view, it would certainly be a great pity, Cowan Dickie and Shepherd would be two of the first names I'd put on the team sheet with (by my count) seven others having strong claims to make the side. However, there are other good players who could cover them. Unless Barnstaple follow suit, at least Jake Murphy will be available, Matavesi's availability will presumably depend on the Royal Navy. The really big blow (again, IMO) is that Billy Searle won't be available as he's now a level 1 player, he was the star of the show for me last campaign.
