It’s the bringing in new players to shore up a losing team I’m referring to. Whether they’re loan short term or whatever the remedy(hoped for) is the same.

Coventry 4-1 Hartpury
Ealing 4-1 Doncaster
Jersey 4-1 Scottish - Jersey form is up and down so my heart rules this one.
Nottingham 2-5 Carnegie
Richmond 0-4 Pirates - Pirates have the wind in their sails after dumping Jersey out of the cup!

Can we have Jake Armstrong back please? Top quality player, gutted to see him go, even more gutted that he hasn't had a chance to break into the Bristol 1st team squad.
It all may be a little too late for Hartpury, but you never know. If it's not, then Richmond had better beware as this could put you right in the firing line.

Bedford       4 - 1 Irish ... A real shock if this is true, but a Bedford side on top form are a match for anyone at home, including LI. Possible and more hope than anything, but we shall see. Perhaps one of the last chances for ET to close the gap.

Coventry     4 - 1 Hartpury ... Some great signings for Hartpury, but Cov are a settled side now and playing good rugby. It will be close, but the home side get it for me.

Ealing        5 - 0 Knights ... Sparks up front, but I expect ET to rumble a BP win over the line here. DK are a top side and will not make it easy for them, probably come down to the last 10. Cracking game in prospect this one, but possibly only for the purists.

Jersey        5 - 0 Scottish ... Nervous about this one. Jersey were shocking last week in the cup against Pirates, with our 1st choice side out. Clearly the guys were playing with a hot potato rather than a rugby ball. If we slow it down, build pressure and then hit out wide we should win with a BP, but give Mr. Bright and his forward mates a sniff and danger will loom. Have to go for the BP home win, but nails will be shredded.

Nottingham 1- 4 YC ... Great match up this one. Leedshire seem to be on the up now and will be formidable apponents against a very capable Nottingham side. This will be really tight, but I think that the visitors may just nick it.

Richmond    1 - 4 Pirates ... Great win for the Pirates last week in the cup. Their defence was 1st class, especially in the last 5/10 minutes and they will need that resolve against a large & very determined Richmond side. Could go either way, but another long trip for the Cornishmen to bear fruit.

Good luck everyone, stay safe. Really looking forward to the home game at St. Peter on Saturday and then off to HQ on Sunday. Anyone going to The Eel Pie? Will see you there if you are.

Predictions for this weekend:
Bedford 0-5 London Irish - would love Blues to win but I struggle to see it. Irish will do the job with few alarms in my opinion.
Coventry 4-1 Hartpury - Interesting to see what Hartpury's new signings can do but Cov should sneak a tight contest.
Ealing 5-2 Doncaster - a real test for the Knights this weekend but don't be surprised if they push Ealing very close.
Jersey 4-1 London Scottish - Jersey have gone off the boil but I think they'll just edge out a decent Scottish side.
Nottingham 4-1 Carnegie - I think Nottingham will avenge their two cup losses to Carnegie and will win a real scrap.
Richmond 0-5 Cornish Pirates - I can't see any return here for Richmond. Pirates are a very good side.

.

The two Jakes seem to have been inseparable in recent seasons, but Jake Armstrong has had rather less game-time at Bris than Jake Woolmore. I hope he makes it - he was second-fiddle (to Simon Kerrod) on the tight-head side for most of his first season in Jersey, but then became first choice in 17/18 and earned his move to the Prem. Strikingly young considering he had 4 seasons in Yorkshire before the 2 in Jersey - he's not 25 until next month; good luck Jake...

Another load of rubbish from Member 728, as the “poor side” wins again away from home

I would give up on giving predictions, as you clearly know nothing about rugby
Watch Out - The Scottish Phoenix Club is on the Up!!
