If there is no central funding I presume there will be no requirement to play a certain number of English qualified players in their match day squads in the Championship. Correct?
Watch Out - The Scottish Phoenix Club is on the Up!!

I don't know. Both the Championship and RFU regs state:

A Club may not in any Match have in the match day 23 at any one time more than two Foreign Players.

However, British, European and Kolpak players are of course exempt.
But for how long.

I am fairly sure British and Irish players will remain exempt - but who knows about European and Kolpak players.

I doubt it, judging by the numbers that have recently signed up for cricket.

I suspect they will be overseas players subject to the same qualification whatever that may be after Brexit - does anyone actually know at the moment?

Agreed, which going back to one of my original points regardless that if contracts for new players don’t have to start being paid until 2 months before whenever fixtures starts, every club in this league will have a massive hole in financing so I don’t understand why more clubs aren’t cutting their cloth in more dramatic way.

In the long term there will have to be a reduction in salaries. There will be a lag as some clubs will continue to pay the old market rate to attract the best players, but club’s finances and the market will catch up. That may mean unfortunately that more talented players who aren’t quite premiership quality yet look elsewhere for work (e.g. Reon Joseph). Sadly I’m struggling to see any positive long term outlook and think we’re heading to ring fencing and a fully semi pro league

Think you are correct and as yet we don't even know if the RFU will finance the coming season on the reduced financing unless anyone has heard anything. In which case there is an even bigger whole in a number of clubs budget

A few ex-Jersey players having their new clubs announced. Harry Morley (prop) to LS was on here last week, not sure about Jack Stapley (wing) to Nottingham. Today Alec Clarey to Sarries, who may have another Red up their sleeves too...

Charlie Thacker, brother of Harry, signs for Nottingham. Bit of a wasted talent - he’s been in the wilderness for a while. Good signing for them. I’d heard a rumour that Mitch Lees was heading to Nottingham.

Similar thing happened with Will Hurrell, could have gone in in his teens but didn't, was at Cov in NAT 1, came to Donny on our promotion, then as they  saytsay rest is history, went on to be very good for Bristol in the prem.

Hopefully if age isn't an issue he could realise his potential.

Charlie played for Nottingham a couple of years ago whilst with Leicester and looked good think Will Hurrell was involved on the same basis but am not sure he played a game
