Thanks FA. Tbh, Pirates are a useful outfit and will put most sides to the sword this season at The Mennaye.

Bedford sign former Samoan international back row Alafoti Fa'osiliva. Most recently at Worcester but think he's been a free agent since the end of last season. Seems like there's quite a few Samoan internationals arriving in the league recently.

Good coup for Bedford at a time where we really needed some good news. However, I can't help but think the money could've been spent strengthening other areas of the squad. Back row is one of the few positions that was in decent nick from a quality, quantity and injury perspective. We are more in need of front rowers, particularly an experienced tight head and/or hooker, and we have had a fly half injury crisis all season. Not convinced any of our scrum half options are top quality either.

Isn’t this the guy who’s got quite a lot of previous on the disciplinary front?

It's a shame, but inevitable. We keep seeing our Cornish talent move away for the top flight - can't blame them for that. It will be like this until we get the bleddy stadium built.

Likewise we have seen many players move on from Nottingham and a lot have had successful Premiership careers

no offence at all to Pirates, but I was surprised that Sam M went back to the Duchy after his spell with Toulouse - I'd have thought it might have been 'onwards & upwards' after that... he's 28 in Jan, so the time to have a crack at the top level is now. Has the length of his contract been revealed?

As mentioned above by JD regarding Nottingham, Jersey have become used to being used as a platform for players to reach the Prem or Pro14. It's a shame to lose them, and we don't make a fortune in transfer fees, but the fact that we do it regularly helps attract the next Harry Williams/Gary Graham/ Kieran Hardy/ Jake Woolmore to come here, and so the wheel turns.

Ironic Sam Matavesi went to Saints when Exeter were in the market for a hooker!

I thought the "primary" purpose from an RFU perspective was for the Championship to be a stepping stone to top flight rugby, for those who have the potential. We should celebrate these successes and be proud of our clubs in enabling our players to develop into top flight / international players. Although I recognise the fact that we will miss them.
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

Having been a developing club for 30 odd years totally agree , Nottingham are very proud of their former players who have gone on to better things its the way of the world.

Sam is a permanent signing for Saints. Exeter have been looking for loan cover. Not comparable.

Ealing sign hooker Tim Crozier, who played in New Zealand and was linked with Crusaders and Winger Chester Duff from Ayr. These are injury cover for the rest of the season for Ryan Roach and James Cordy Redden/Seb Stegmann. Amazed to see some injury news from Ealing for once.
