Good to see Josh Hodson in the new Jersey squad. He is a big, powerful, fast winger who was on the books of the ill fated London Welsh.

He played for the Welsh U18`s against South Africa a few years ago ,in South Africa !. He also played previously played for the Ealing Trailfinders U16`s  who beat Neath U 16,s  ( drawn from several teams in the Neath district ) in a French international tournament held in Arras.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing play against Ealing  home and away .............although not playing too well .

Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Good to read that - keep it coming.  Is he related to Ryan Hodson, flanker,   ex LW, ex Jersey?
Come on Jersey........

OE and CC, the League fixture at the RAG between LS and Jersey will be on Friday 16th March 2018, with a 7:45 KO. No point in competing with St Paddy's Day and final round of 6 Nations with England v Ireland down the road at HQ !! 😬

Thanks for the news HH. The overnight adds to the cost for away supporters but given the date it must make sense for Scottish and on the plus side i should get to see another match on the Saturday.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Plenty of time for you to maximise your options CC, even if that doesn't include HQ the next day! 🍺🥃

Thanks for the understanding, CC. Believe me, we'd rather have every home match (and away ones) kick off at 3:00pm on a Saturday !!

Cheers HH. The early heads up enabled me to get return flights for under £80 and a nearby hotel for under £50 and frankly it would have been crazy for Scottish to try and compete for custom with Twickenham. I'm booked to return on the late flight from Gatwick on the Saturday so I'm sure I will see a match nearby on Saturday afternoon. There must be a Nat 1 match but if there is anything on at RAG or ODP that will do nicely. At a push the international will be on TV somewhere. All the best CC.

Unfortunately paddy's day is a designated rest day in N1 and N2, so unless there are any cancellations to be re-arranged you will be out of luck.

That's a pity but there must be some affordable rugby in London that day and time to research it. If nothing else I would expect the bar at RAG or ODP to screen the international but I would much rather watch a game live.

It's a rest day in Herts & Middx One, as well, so presumably that applies all the way down the pyramid from National One.

Yorkshire Carnegie confirm the signing of prop Marc Thomas from Cardiff, hooker Joe Buckle from Jersey and winger George Watkins from Jersey today bringing the squad size to 30 for next season.

Marc Thomas was also at Jersey before moving on to Cardiff. Three cracking lads IMO.

Cracking lads I am sure, but CC are they a great loss to Jersey and will they strengthen Leedshire? Considering where Leedshire were last year........
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

It is a sign of the times that Tykes fans get more transfer information from CC than they do from the club's official website. Thank you CC. Would you like a job at Headingley? PR & marketing perhaps?

Cheers Tykester. The beer, fish & chips, curry and pies in Yorkshire are tempting but I couldn't give up the blackcurrants, grapes and potatoes from my garden in St Ouen. Thomas, Buckle & Watkins would IMO strengthen any side at Championship level and I would expect them to start most games at almost any club except Briz. I think Watkins was record try scorer at Briz in his time there and has a great family who support him widely and will always be welcome back in St Ouens when Leeds visit.

I grow blackcurrants in my garden in Leeds, no room for spuds though. There is a commercial vineyard at Woodlesford, just outside Leeds. Global warming and all that.
That's easy for you to say.

That's pretty poor - I'd be peed off if I was a Yorks/Leeds supporter.

Yep. We are pretty peed off. Supporters leaving the club by the dozen. We will be down to the hardcore few next season.
