Rotherham gave 100 free tickets to the kids from Caldy.

We had a great day out. My understanding of the Minis issue was that kids were free but parents were charged £15 a head each £1500 for 100 parents. I don’t think they were expecting that. I don’t know anything else about it.

I have since heard that Rotherham have refunded the money to Caldy although I haven’t had this confirmed yet. Good on them if they have

From my point of view I don’t think that Roth did anything wrong. It maybe that Caldy hadn’t previously confirmed the financial arrangements

Kids free, parents pay, seems fair.
£15 for at Nat1 game at Roth. I presume that included a pie, programme and valet parking.

Why should the parents get in free I am lead to believe that Caldy mini''s played at Dinnington so it was nothing to do with Roth who always let kids free .

The club does usually charge for u16 - £5 - but every kid working on the schools programme, or in any tournament the lads help with or referee, or through RFU courses, get offered a free ticket, and it says that adults need to pay on the ticket. The players have worked with over 1000 kids since this programme started in November and, according to the RFU guy involved, there has been a big increase in kids coming to mini-juniors because of it, especially girls.

Roth was expensive for Nat 1

£15 entrance, additional £3 for seated area and a whopping additional £7 for a programme

£7 for a programme?! Twice the price of Premiership programmes? I would expect it to be 200 pages of full colour glossy paper for £7. If that was really the price that's disgraceful.

I enjoyed this thread in the build-up to yesterday's game - it's disappointing that since the final whistle it's been dominated by criticism of the home club, including a fair bit of misinformation...

You were always in debt when you arrived so it was the amount you bought not the individual one

Happy Days indeed, different part of Manchester this year but there were some lovely pies for lunch, cannot beat a proper northern pie unless of course it’s a Scotch one but not many of those around the grounds in Nat 1 in fact none.

Apologies if I got that wrong, I didn't buy a programme myself but was told the price by someone in my party..........I should have checked my facts. Still £15 for entry £3 for the stand and £2.50 for the programme is steep but no criticism of the home club from me. Their prices are what they are and at £6 for pie, peas and chips which was enough for two people they re balanced the tariff there

My sons been a ball boy a few times this season and if I want to go to the match with him ive had to pay I have no problem with that you have to remember Rotherham are not some retired millionaires plaything the loss of cash from the championship resulted in the club becoming part time this year so every penny counts to the club now. The £3 pound charge to go into the stand is to sit, if you want to go into it to stand its free.

This is interesting! As you know Sale FC Rugby brought up over 100 parents and members to see their kids play in a pre-match game against various age groups just before Xmas at Caldy. You may remember the double decker bus and the warm welcome your president gave us in his speech. Although kids were free, all the parents were charged for entry, to see their kids play and then they could stay for the match. It would be wonderful if in the spirit of what Rotherham have started that Caldy could also offer a refund. What do you think? #askingforafriend
