Kent have said that next season's fixtures are the same as this year's with home and away reversed.
So Kent have Herts (a), Surrey (h) and Devon (h) Edited by Robb - 01 Aug 2017 at 07:21 |

Do we know the venues for these games? I remember searching for them last year, gave up in the end because there was absolutely no coverage online.

The www.englandrugby.com site lists all the fixtures and does show the venues for some of them but not all. North Midlands fixtures. May 5 Hampshire at Gosport and Fareham. May 12 Warwickshire at Bromsgrove. May 19 Somerset at Taunton |

Thanks. Looks like Cheshire play their opening game at New Brighton; the other two are away and venues are TBC.

Kent haven't announced their home grounds for this year but according to Devon, they will play at "Aylesford Butts RFC".

Why isn't this competition better advertised?
The Cheshire RFU site is seldom updated and contains little information regarding the fixtures, nothing about entrance fees - still no confirmation on the Lancashire game. I'm fairly knew to watching rugby live at this level (4), and it just seems there's a lot of smoke and mirrors going on and a general feeling of apathy. I recall being at our AGM one year, someone mentioned the win Cheshire had at our own ground yet was disappointed at the lack of support - it wasn't even advertised on our website, or even on the board on the main road! I'd love to get to more things like this; those at the top either don't much care for promoting them or is it just that they don't want enthusiastic little oiks, like me, attending and making too much noise?!

I've seen some great players for Cheshire over recent years. The Mulchrone Brothers, Tom Cruse and many other who have gone on to higher levels. The players always seem to enjoy it but promotion and fan interest seem to dwindle year by year

Has it always been this way? I really think it's a shame that there is virtually no promotion for the competition. I'd love to see people getting behind the team. It can't just be me, can it? |

To me, in the few counties I have some knowledge of, the problem is apathy from the players. Not all of them obviously, but it is not always the case that the counties put out their best XV. The playing squad seems to be a mix of whom is available, whom can make training, who is not injured/knackered at the end of the season, and at at times who is favoured by the particular coaching team. Players right down to Level 6 put a lot of time, effort and at times, expense into playing and training for their clubs. Almost all of them also have "proper" jobs, so the thought of county training as an extra with a possibility of the guy from the next door club playing instead of you, because he always does, is not very attractive. It is a shame but I think the intensity of the club game, as it increases each year, actually decreases the value of the County game. |

The Roses game is the one that fans want to see whatever sport it is up North. Hopefully whoever goes to Twickenham it won't be decided by bonus points as last year. |

I saw the other day on Fylde's social media that they're hosting the final game. It appears there's 5-7 Chester players in the squad for this year, no idea who else has been called-up... |

As usual I can find nothing at all about the cheshire team. Easily found Lancashire and Yorkshire line ups on Twitter/their websites. Its almost like Cheshire don't want anyone to know about these games
http://yorkshirerfu.pitchero.com/news/senior-xv-team-selection-22916/ Yorkshire team for anyone interested. |

All cloak and dagger. Must be a need to know basis. Why is it Cheshire seems to be run like an old golf club? It just seems if you haven't got the right tie then you don't get to find out what's happening? Info on Lancashire is readily available, why not Cheshire? |

Interesting Yorkshire side, I am not convinced about the pack. The backs look to have some firepower though.

It must be down to budgets. Last year absolutely nothing on Yorkshire website
But I got Yorkshire team on Cheshire website. Obviously Yorkshire used all their budget last year and Cheshire used all theirs this year Sorted😀😀😀 Edited by tulip - 04 May 2018 at 16:13 |
