here are my predictions for round 2's fixtures:
Ireland v Italy - Ireland by 20 (Italy won't be pushovers but Ireland will get the job done in the end, more winnable games for Italy later in the competition - I hope they're competitive here like they were for a lot of the game v England).
England v Wales - England by 5 (a really good match in prospect here, both teams looked very good at the weekend, just think England will be a much sterner test for Wales and I expect the England bench to have the greater impact).
Scotland v France - France by 3 (now France are underdogs for this game but that will suit them, Scotland simply must be better this weekend otherwise I fear another reverse for them. will that defeat in Wales yield a fierce reaction from the Scots or will their confidence have been severely dented, this will tell us)

having seen the 1st round of games I'm going to stick my neck out and say that Italy will avoid the wooden spoon this year. I think they will beat either Scotland or France.

Congratulations to Scotland on their 32-26 victory over France, one of the best games of rugby I've see for years.

Thanks Capt. We aim to please, just depends whether Dr Jeykll or Mr Hyde turns up. Still, makes a change from the dross we served up on a regular basis a few years back. Tactical master stroke to hook Russell and move Laidlaw to 10. Doesn’t say a lot for the fitness or conditioning of the French who were shot at about 60 / 65 minutes. Shocking.
