My view on the race for 2nd. There are a lot of games to go and injuries will play their part. I hear Canterbury are short of front row. They played a fella off the bench who retired some years ago. Bury, Clifton, London Irish will be banana skins for all those left to play them. The teams in the top 5 who still need to play each other will be pushing very hard indeed. Playing the bottom three is never easy late on.

I do not remember Kiba ever playing in the forwards before? I did think this was a strange move, are the injuries that bad?

Agree to a certain extent Morgie, however this season the bottom 3 are a fair way adrift and may well have nothing worth playing for in the next few week.

Recalling last season, Old Reds and Wimbledon both had good runs in the latter 1/4 of the season - enough to keep ORs up but alas not for Wimbledon. Any side near the bottom will have the extra edge over mid-table teams as they are playing for their lives(well N2 status) |

Went to watch TJs v Rams today. Hell of a game. Tjs controlled the Rams pack just enough to gain parity and did well when in possession. The Rams attack looked late for a plan B and moved the ball scoring a late try earning a bonus point but I thought TJs were the better side on the day. The race for 2nd is warming up.

Can't really argue with that. TJ's backs were very, very quick and effective today.

TJ’s half backs were excellent. Right team won but our boys fought back hard for the bonus point.

The Rams run of wins is fantastic at this level. I noted a plaque on the TJs wall noting a run of 50 league wins.

Yes indeed, 2nd place is warming up nicely. If we can win at Canterbury and Taunton at home we will be in a good shout for 2nd spot, so fingers and toes crossed!! Good win at Worthing today, never an easy place to win. any thoughts of the game from the Worthing faithful?? Edited by The Hawks - 10 Feb 2019 at 09:08 |

TJ's were at their best and we were slightly off, and as you rightly point out, they were better on the day than us ... The spine of their team, 2, 8, 9, 10 and 15 were very good and just as important, their defence was very good. At 12-11 to RAMS early at the start of the 2nd half, TJ's defendended stoutly (albeit with a bit of help from the referee) but maybe if we had scored then it might have been a different result but we didn't and then got punished for a couple of errors (bit like we punished Henley when they made a couple against us back in January) and TJ's ran out deserved winners. The sign of a good team is how they respond to a below par performance, training should be intense this week and maybe Old Redcliffians might suffer a bit of a backlash???? |

Not quite so sure any more, Jester, Barnes on another run of four defeats - B&S and LIWG have picked up a win here and there. Barnes' ability to ensure safety will come down to away games at Birmingham & Solihull and London Irish Wild Geese.

The Hawks, As it says in the match report, your line speed in defence was very good and that put pressure on the players carrying and caused many knock -ons. However in the last 1/4 when the game when the game was lost, we played far more aggression and accuracy to try and gat a bonus point which was not to be. We as have other clubs an enormous injury list, including key players which has enabled a lot of young players to step up. I believe they are doing themselves and the Club proud in their work rate and progress. Augers well for the efuture. Good luck for the rest of the season

We’re certainly hoping that Barnes can be dragged into the mix. With Clifton, LIWG, and Barnes all due to come to Portway (plus OAs and TJ) we still believe it can be done ![]() |

Henley had a dream start. Two try's in 6 minutes and it was all uphill for Worthing from there , but I agree the application in the last quarter of the game was very commendable and against lesser opposition would have got its reward. With respect to injuries all clubs will have injury lists to contend with. In Worthing's case I would respectively suggest it is not the amount of injuries so much as who is injured.
