Sounds a great game, shame the cameraman wasn’t keeping up with play during the crucial moment, probably to into the match

The film I've seen, I think from the Rams cameraman and widely available on social media, seems to have the play well covered? I haven't seen anything from the Henley cameraman. Not sure what point you're trying to make PM009?

No point, I was interested in the incident so tried to watch it back, the video submitted to the RFU would be by the home side, their cameraman is day dreaming at the vital moment and misses the final try

Ah right, if you want to see the final try in all it's glory it's on the Rams FB page. Probably about 10 to 15 phases of play by the forwards before the 9 threw it out to the backs.

If the ref gave the knock on, IT could have been a different outcome, all done now, looking for a Hawks win this Saturday agains TJ’s, fingers crossed!

Interesting to see how Hawks react at TJs, will be another tough one, albeit TJs be looking to bounce back themselves after a shock defeat at the weekend. Hawks having been put to the sword at home either side of Xmas by the top 2 won’t want to lose to another top 4 rival. Should be a good one

Three points to make.......

1.  Why do posters not give their Club, sex, Age, location etc.,  ??????AngryAngryAngry     what do we have to hide ?

2.  Hawks do have another tough game coming up tomorrow....and a key one IMO.  This is their chance to put TJ's out of the promotion game ......though that is PROBABLY already a foregone conclusion, unless they recruit.....which they could Tongue   The promotion battle remains interesting to neutral observers.....TJ's STILL do not seem to have adapted their style enough to score the tries they need to get promotion.
That said......most games at the Slade seem tight.....lowish scoring and are decided 4-1 by Robinson's boot.....???  I will probably go with that.....Hawks better in the forwards......TJ's better in the backs but they don't turn that into tries for some reason ?  Confused

Titans ....as last season.....are scoring lots of points through both backs and forwards.....arguably the only team in the league with this diversity.   They are continual bridesmaids and if you ask me ( which if you had any sense you would not).....I would say that they need a defence coach.....shipping too many points again this year and it is costing them wins.  I reckon they will finally sort it out next year and go up....about time really Big smile

I confess to not having seen the City Side yet this year......an outstanding backs side from last year maturing further......lots of good backs and IMO, the best full back in the league in Aiden Moss.   What seems to be the difference is the pack.....I don't yet know how or where that has improved, but it clearly has.  Well done to them Big smile   Excellent half backs too.

3.  We just MIGHT have a tougher league next year.   Maybe a strengthened Bournemouth and Wimbledon coming back ?  Also and more significantly,  Bishops Stortford look to be coming down and it is n't impossible that they might be joined by Esher, Cambridge  or Cinderford.....that woud throw the cat amongst the promotion pigeons Wink

After yesterday's matches the current bottom 3 look doomed as Old Redcliffians have opened up a 15 point gap.

With only 12 games to go it would take a big turnaround for anyone to get out of the relegation zone.

Rams are confirming my pre-season prediction to top the table.

The fight for the play-off place is wide open after yesterday's results - I wouldn't like to pick any one of the 4 teams at present.

It is also touch and go whether North or South will host the play-off match.

Taunton's match at Canterbury next weekend is now huge. Titans are the form side and an away win would put them in the driving seat for the long run in. Suspect Henley will probably fall away from the race now.

frustrating game at Worthing - they seemed on top at 19-5 late in first half, but conceded two soft tries to be trailing at half-time, and never really looked like winning from thereon in.

Much fun at both ends of our table ?   All three bottom teams win ?   I still don't think any of them can actually escape, though if they can muster more points, then it looks like both Dings and Raiders are coming back towards them at some pace Ouch

Great stuff nearer the top......an excellent effort by Titans at Merton Lane and and unbelievable result from TJ's at Woolams Confused   They can't get a TBP to save their lives and then put 57pts on OA's ??   Have they recruited ?  Either way, you can't discount any of the competitors now......it will be fascinating to watch as it winds down.   The fixtures and weather conditions may still just favour the City Side, but injuries and luck will play a part in what is a really tight contest.  A very similar situation prevails in Nat2N, so it will be unclear who gets the home tie in the playoff until perhaps, the last moment ?  Our lot have won some great away encounters in recent years, but I think home advantage may well be more significant this season ?

Just  a couple more wins and Rams will be able to give Jumpin jack some ball again ?

Just thought of another point......for most of the last few years I have introduced a topic as regards which teams were the over and under achievers in our league in this particular season.  To be fair.....this too, has not generated a great response....but.......this year......just IMO.......and based on league positions last year, I think that either the City Side (most likely)  or Hawks would be my best Team of the Season.

By the same virtue......I think that Redruth are the under achievers this year ?  Opinions anybody ?  Perhaps Raiders qualify ?   I confess I did think myself that I thought we would step forward after our 7th finish last year.

3 scores in the last 3 games for Jumping Jack. All points against BSE came from the backs, including 3 try's! Smile

Darth I beg to differ re our club underachieving, bearing in mind our long term injuries and recent crop of yet more key players crocked. IMO

Old Hooker/Nick.......it does n't work like that.  You may decide that we are doing fine, based on your detailed knowledge of the prevailing circumstances at our club. You don't have that level of detail knowledge on all clubs and very few posters will have.

The question posed is more along the lines of.......given where a club finishes in (say) season 2017-18,  what might be a reasonable result the following season ?

So for me,  Canterbury going from 10th to 2nd so far this year is a commendable step forward and arguably, a bigger step forward than any other team ?   So I would rate them as the overachievers in this season ?

With Raiders..........we narrowly avoided relegation in 2016........53pts.   Finished strongly in 2017 and scored 81pts.    I thought we would improve again this year.   I don't think we will now and for whatever reason,  there seems a good chance we will finish (perhaps a fair bit) lower this year.  Also, just FWIW,  I happen to think we could still have finished 6th or better regardless of injury problems.  Just a personal opinion of course.

It's all entirely subjective but you get the gist ?   Everyone expected Rams to win it this year, so even a 3rd place finish would have been an underachievement for them in most poster's judgement ?
