I think Jak is on 18. Rams have been doing squad rotation the last few matches so he's had a bit of bench time too.

Perfect, thanks. Some interesting "Stats" there, especially in relation to attendances. It would appear that Rams are third behind Redruth and Guernsey, ahead of the "well supported" Taunton LOL

Yes one of the most interesting is that the 9th highest points scorer is apparently a south african wicket keeper according to the link LOL

Statbunker is only as accurate as those entering the details on the Match Card. I've found it less than 100% correct.
What if the Hokey Kokey really IS what it's all about?

Or those interpreting it. I really doubt anyone at Cinderford believes their Sam Smith played so many games for Quins!

Are you saying he isn't good enough to have played that many or that the stats are wrong?

Apologies my post wasn't clear. It's a totally different person which I find is often the case for Statbunker.

Worthing ended 9th after a very good late surge to the season after a flirt with relegation - not a vintage season, but not too bad given the absence of key personnel - would be good to mount a promotion challenge next year, but that seems a tad optimistic at the moment

On the train back to Cornwall after watching the Hawks win against a very determined Bury side. It’s been a very good season for us and we must be one of the favourites for next season along with TJ’s and Esher? We have kept mostly all the squad for next season with a few leaving and quite a few new people joining up very soon, so very interesting times ahead. Enjoy your summer and very good luck to Canterbury in the playoffs next Saturday.
Nick.

Lots of folk predicted that Rams would win the league this season. I'm glad that they were right in their predictions. I first started watching the 1st XV when they were Level 7, to get to Level 3 in a steady progression is a huge testament to the whole club ethos. One step at a time, don't run before you can walk.
Today at Canterbury was a great advert for rugby at this level. It would have been easy for both clubs to take their foot off the pedal. Rams came away with the 5 points, the only team to win at Canterbury this season.
Hopefully Canterbury can win the playoff next week. One suggestion guys, if you're playing down the slope, with the wind in your favour, and you find yourself pinned into your own 22 you may want to think about using the boot.

It's been a blast!

Evenin all.........some responses to posts above and some thoughts of my own.

Jester.......what sort of side did Canterbury put out ?  I would ask one of their posters but they don't seem to have any ?  I thought they would rest key players for the playoff ?  Also......for as long as I have been watching them, the City Side don't have a kicking game, but when you score as many tries as they do from inside your own 22, tat is understandable, though I agree it might be a useful skill/tactic in Nat1.

Nick......I watched both the Hawks games again this year.  What a difference !  At Dry Leas Hawks were their usual forwards based selves and frankly, if our front row had not collapsed, we had enough to win that game on that day.  At our place though....my....I'm sure that it is more than just one player, but the addition of Ben Bolster at 10 (did he not play 15 at Dings ?) lit up the Hawks back line as I have never previously seen.  Much more variety in your play and much to look forward to next season.  Had he arrived a bit earlier, you might have pipped Canterbury ?#

On that subject......TJ's played most of this season as they did last, defending brilliantly and kicking their pens.....4-1 wins being chalked up most weeks.  It was not until the latter stages of this season when it became clear that the lack of bomus points was going to deny them that they stopped kickimng pens and went after it.  They have scored loads of points since that juncture but too late.  I think that they missed quite a chance there with not playing with more ambition ?

Raiders have finished the season quite strongly, although most of our long term injured have not returned.  Rather, our youngsters have slowly improved and IMO, we have found better ways to deploy our limited resources.   We have a lot of skill and pace to burn in the backs.......if we can get some more front foot ball next season we will cause problems for most.  Some of our play today was outstanding, particularly in the first half. Clap

I see that we will not be having the pleasure of Camquins company next year as the Blood and Sand escaped at the death with a great away win.  So two northern sides go down again and we will have another level transfer.....who this time I wonder ?

I felt sorry for all those relegated from Nat1 with so many points, but that is not unusual.  Loughborough were especially curious.  Only the top three teams scored more points than them.  Only the champions Ampthill scored more BP's, but they finished bottom.  Not dissimilar to Raiders only year in Nat1. Ouch

Best of luck to Canterbury in their game against chester.......when is it ?

Morning Darth, not sure what side C'Bury played to be honest. Some of the players were familiar from the home game at the beginning of the season. I didn't bother buying a program. I agree that they like to run the ball from everywhere, but when you're pinned in your own 22 and have a wind and slope in your favour............ One of our four tries came from C'bury messing about in their 22 and intercepted to score. I hope they go up and it's a nice place to visit.

Morning Darth,
Ben Bolster is injured at the moment, so we had the services of Dan Barnes from Rosslyn Park, again like Ben he gets the backs moving, alas we can’t keep him as he has joined London Scottish cos he wants full time rugby. Ben wants to stay with us next season, I don’t know if he have signed yet? I know we are getting two backs from Wasps, but don’t know who, we have got Allan A   back after injury, played for London Welsh in the premiership, also a mysterious player even our DOR won’t tell at the moment who it is!!, all I can say watch this space.

Best of luck for next season then Nick......if Hawks can produce a backs game as well as their forward power they could do well.  The performance at the Rugby Park was the best I've seen from Hawks since the young Will Robinson was there.

Jester.......Merton Lane is not such a nice place to visit in mid-winter.......the pitch gets horrendously muddy and sticky.  I don't suppose it would cause Rams any problem adapting but it does not help the playing style of Canterbury themselves (IMO).  They will have been very pleased with this comparatively dry winter and will be hoping for a repeat next year if they go up.

IMO, based on games at Worthing this season, Henley should have finished 2nd this season - Rams apart they were the best side I have seen.

So a missed opportunity?
