Indeed he Did  over 365 Games For Dings ,
a great natural athlete he would be worth a fortune these Days
I believe Anton was a Dings Junior from the age of 6-19  but played at Cleve with his brother all are great lads , we are still chasing the older Brother , but his Job makes it difficult

A side im not sure Pierre is playing anymore he too finished up @ Cleve , but his job means Sats are a working day
The Only thing that held me back was a lack of Talent

Well well well the season has some around quickly, and us here at Barnes are excited to be back!

Squad is looking good. However, few notable departures;

1. David Butler: Club Legend. Battering ram 12 who played 10 seasons at the club. Will be sorely missed.
2. Jack Franklin: ever dependable 9 who had an eye for a gap. Turns out an eye for men as well when he recently came out at the club. Showed great courage and naturally supported by all here at Barnes.
3. Tom O’Toole: long overdue. Should have retired years ago.

Few new additions but I haven’t seen many of them play yet so cannot comment.

Great to be back. Hope everyone has had a good summer and look forward to catching up.

Two very good players I believe they turned out for Clifton a few times whilst they were at Bristol University.

I was working in Southend a few years ago and stayed on to watch the Saxons play Clifton. Southend featured the notorious Lydney born scrum half Arnott. Franklin completely out played him including scoring a breakaway try and Butler was a real handful in the centre.

Not quite sure of the relevance of the previous post however for accuracy. Sam was born in Gloucester and he has has signed for Rochford hundred.

Come on Clifton, announce the signings in one go rather than putting yourselves in the same ball park as a Premiership club and drip feeding the players signed ........

Sorry about getting the birthplace wrong, at least it was the right county. The relevance of the post was that the Southend supporters who I was sharing a beer or three with told me that Sam was voted the best scrum half in the league, but on the day he was totally outplayed by Franklyn had he not done so Southend would have won as they were superior to Clifton in all other aspects of the play.

Not sure when Franklin played 1st XV for Clifton if at all, I would imagine it was Callum Braley playing against Sammy that day !

If that is the case it is understandable as Braley was back-up to Willie Heinz at Gloucester last season.

Managed to get down to Merton Lane to see Canterbury Vs TJ’s Saturday. Great reader of the game - Tonbridge have signed a real asset with Matt.

I hear Clifton are also in the throes of signing a kid I saw play a couple of times at fullback for Bracknell, think he played England Counties 20's .... also been told that Bournemouth have had a registration transfer of Sam Palmer to Clifton ..... I'm sure the Clifton press office are working overtime now to ensure the rugby public are kept informed .....

Old Reds have been very quiet all bar the update of who is taking over form the departed Nelson on the coaching side of things, any new players at Scotland Lane ......

Dings are looking good, guess the battle of Bristol will be the two old rivals in blue and black v the purple and black.

Think my move back to the Bristol area where I grew up,  will give me a real choice of where to watch !

Has he signed a contract with TJ's ??? mind you a contract doesn't seem to mean too much to him anyway. Perhaps he is just playing for fun ???

Spoke to him last season when Worthing beat TJ's and seemed to be enjoying it, very strange ! He is a good player, you can see he has Championship experience.

That is correct - saw both games, both very competitive.

Apparently Worthing have a couple of very able replacements
